"A single Goblin Cutter is nothing to fear, but in numbers they are a force to be taken seriously."[1]

Goblin Cutters were, well, Goblin Cutters from the Dungeons and Dragons portion of the continuity, and were included in the Battle for the Underdark Master Set. Wizards of the Coast did not write lore bios for their Dungeons and Dragons Heroscape units, and so we know relatively little about these characters.

Stats[]

  • Move: 6
  • Range: 1
  • Attack: 2
  • Defense: 1
  • Point Value: 50
  • Figures Per Squad: 4

Abilities[]

  • Mob Attack:
When attacking with a Goblin Cutter you control, if the defending figure is engaged with at least 2 other Goblin Cutters you control, it subtracts 2 from its defense dice.
  • Scurry:
When a Goblin Cutter you control is destroyed by a normal attack from an opponent's figure, you may move 2 Goblin Cutters you control up to 4 spaces each, and all Goblin Cutters you control no longer have any visible Hit Zones for the duration of the attacking figure's turn while they remain unengaged. Goblin Cutters will never take any leaving engagement attacks when using Scurry.
  • Scale:
When moving up or down levels of terrain, Goblin Cutters may add 2 to their height.

Synergy[]

  • Torin: Evil Eye Protection
As Small Utgar figures, the Goblin Cutters may benefit from Torin's Evil Eye Protection Defensive Ability.
  • Horned Skull Brutes: Expendable Rabble
Because the Goblin Cutters are small Goblin figures, a Horned Skull Brute may use Expendable Rabble to sacrifice a Goblin Cutter in order to ignore a wound.

History[]

In the Dungeons and Dragons portion of the continuity, Goblin Cutters were summoned by Utgar to Valhalla.

The were assigned to help guard the Shadow Cavern, a cave where Valkrill perfected his summoning method to bring his first troops into Valhalla, and were busy dumping magical artifacts into the water to boost its potential for his plans. They had a large cavern to themselves called the Goblin Hill. It did not smell pleasant.[2]

Additional Info[]

The miniatures for the Goblin Cutters were Goblin Blackblade, 30/60 from War Drums, Goblin Runner, 21/60 from Against the Giants, Goblin Picador, 34 /60 from Dungeons of Dread, and Lolthbound Goblin, 13/60 from Demonweb.[3]

FAQ's[]

Goblin Cutters have not received any official rulings or clarifications.
