Within the Marro Hive, Drones are the lowest breed, nearly mindless but with great savagery. Capable of little independent thought, the Drones respond to the commands of higher caste Marro to move and fight. They are not trusted with advanced weaponry but are given the most primal of slicing weapons. At times they respond to the neural commands of their superiors and fight as a coherent unit. Many times only part of the Drone Squad responds while the rest stand by, unaware of anything.[1]

History[]

Marro Drones in the Heroscape Mini-Movie

Marro Drones in the Heroscape Mini-Movie.

Marro Drones would be summoned from Marr by Utgar, and could be spawned by the Marro Hives on Valhalla.

Some would be spotted in Nastralund by Raelin and Thormun, who were out on a scouting mission for Jandar's Nothern Army. They surrounded a Hivelord that may either have been Tor-Kul-Na or a similar creation.[2]

Just after the establishment of the Alliance between Jandar and Ullar, the Marro Drones would be present during an attack on Ullar's half-finished stronghold on the shore of the Bitter Sea. According to Sgt. Drake Alexander, who was busy killing them, they brought 'plenty of those'. They were accompanied by Marrden Hounds, Marro Drudge, Marro Stingers, and Su-Bak-Na. The Marro swarm threatened to overwhelm the half-finished walls until Su-Bak-Na was taken out of the sky by Sgt. Drake, and the newly allied Vydar finished them off with an unexpected regiment of Soulborgs sent from Anund, including Major Q10.[3]

During the Utgar occupation of Concan's Castle, they were employed to guard the fortress alongside Marro Stingers, Krug and Mimring. A troop of them on patrol were defeated in a conflict with Omnicron Snipers, while Krug was defeated by Sgt. Drake.

"Look at them come. Like ants at a picnic." - Sgt. Drake Alexander

A remainder aimed to defend the castle from Raelin and Major Q10, and the battle was in their favor while Mimring provided the benefits of a Glyph of Astrid from within the fortress; however, the tides turned against them when Sgt. Drake infiltrated the castle and provided the benefits to his own teammates instead, and the Drones were defeated.[4]

FAQ's[]

  • Hive Swarm
If I only have 6 Marro Drones on the Board and I roll a 17-20, can I move with 6 of them, attack, and move with 3 again to meet the 9 requirement?
No, you can only move & attack with as many Marro Drones as you have on the board. You cannot move & attack multiple times in one turn with any Marro Drones.  (Hasbro FAQ)[5]
