“Krack Kaw, Krack Kaw, Krack Kaw!!!” These strange sounds fill the Ticalla Jungle long before anyone sees the deadly monsters making the chilling noises. Through the undergrowth of the jungle one sees Marro carrying unusually large heavy weapons.

Horror has a new name, as the Marro heavy weapons reveal themselves to be living creatures in the hands of the lesser Marro. “Krack Kaw” is the sound of the fire lightning coming from the metallic mouths of their weapons. The Marro power their weapons with their own life force, sometimes a little too much of it.[1]

History

Marro Stinger and Krug

A Marro Stinger defies Sgt. Drake in the Heroscape mini-movie.

At some point, Marro Stingers were summoned from Marr by Utgar. They could also be spawned by the Marro Hives established on Valhalla.

Just after the establishment of the Alliance between Jandar and Ullar, the Marro Stingers would be present during an attack on Ullar's half-finished stronghold on the shore of the Bitter Sea. At the time, they had never been seen before by Sgt. Drake Alexander. They were accompanied by Marro Drones, Marrden Hounds, Marro Drudge, and Su-Bak-Na.

During the battle, one would be felled by a magical blast from Sonlen, and one might have hit Sgt. Drake if not for Raelin's protective field. The Marro swarm threatened to overwhelm the half-finished walls until Su-Bak-Na was taken out of the sky by Sgt. Drake, and the newly allied Vydar finished them off with an unexpected regiment of Soulborgs sent from Anund, including Major Q10.[2]

After the fall of Concan's Castle, Marro Stingers helped defend the fortress, and a troop were sent out on patrol with Krug and some Marro Drones. They were defeated by Sgt. Drake, Raelin, Major Q10, and a backup force of Omnicron Snipers.[3]

"Maybe we cut you, green man! Now we stop you!" - Marro Stinger, to Sgt. Drake Alexander

They would be present at three major battles in Ticalla as Sgt. Drake Alexander, Shiori, Sonlen, Raelin and Major Q10 made their way down to attempt to destroy the Marro Hive at Xualtiaca, including an early ambush by Marro Drudge, Marro Stingers and Marrden Nagrubs in The Narrows where several Drudge and Stingers lurked among dead bodies in the swamp water, defending a captured Shiori in Montiqua Ledge, and finally reinforcing hivelord Tor-Kul-Na's defense of the Marro Hive itself. Although they managed to wound the heroes, they were wiped out in droves.[4]

Additional Info

Their weapons had a distinct sound of popping electricity while charging for a blast. The blast itself goes “Krack Kaw!!!”[2]
