"Nerak and his Glacial Swog stalk the frozen battlefields of the icy north. His presence is inspiring, and his guttural commands keep every grut sharp and focused."

Nerak the Glacian Swog Rider was Heroscape's first Gencon Exclusive figure, a repaint of the Swog Rider released for convention attendees of Gencon 2005 and in limited Toys-R-Us promotions afterwards. Exclusive figures did not receive official lore bios, and so where Nerak returned from is unknown. However, he would later see re-release in the Wave 10 pack Champions of Renown, with the above piece of flavor text from his packaging description.

Additional Info[]

Nerak was the first exclusive figure introduced to Heroscape, and met with some controversy regarding his difficulty to find and his immediate aftermarket cost.[1] He was also released in August 2005, while Thaelenk Tundra would not arrive on shelves until May 2006 to provide players with the snow terrain tiles he benefits from.[2]

The layout of Nerak's promotional run at Toys-R-Us was also critiqued, as with only 30 units per store, he was difficult to find. Purportedly most Toys-R-Us stores were not even aware this promotion was happening, and only offered the exclusives to players under 18 years old, to make matters worse.[3]

He would later be reprinted in Wave 10, Valkrill's Gambit: Champions of Renown, alongside Sir Hawthorne and the Elite Onyx Vipers.
